cross-border matters. With over two decades of experience as a former law professor
and practicing lawyer in Iran, Dr. Pourostad offers independent and credible expert
witness services tailored to commercial, procedural, and international disputes.
Combining academic expertise in civil procedure, law of evidence, and comparative
law, his background enables him to provide testimony that is both legally precise and
practically grounded. His expertise in Middle Eastern procedural systems, particularly
the Iranian legal system, has led to his collaboration with the international scientific
project Comparative Procedural Law and Justice (CPLJ), organized by the Max Planck
Institute for Procedural Law and supported by the Luxembourg Research Fund (FNR).
His scholarship on Middle Eastern legal systems has likewise been recognized in the
wider academic community, with Professor Susan Haack, a British philosopher, citing
his legal opinions in her published essays.
